Shervin Badkhshan MD

I am a reconstructive urologist specializing in men’s health. Many of the people who see me for care are dealing with side effects or complications from chronic disease, treatment of cancer, or trauma. Countless men suffer in silence when they have sexual dysfunction or genitourinary deformities like erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, Peyronie’s disease, or buried penis. I ensure my patients are at ease when discussing sensitive and difficult topics. My goal is to normalize these conversations and guide patients on their journey to restore and improve their quality of life. Issues like erectile dysfunction (ED), Peyronie’s disease (penile curvature), and urinary incontinence (bladder leakage) can be treated both medically and surgically. I help men understand and choose the treatment plan that best fits their goals and lifestyle. Surgical options that I offer include injections and penile reconstruction for Peyronie’s disease, penile implants for ED, and urethral slings and artificial urinary sphincters for urinary incontinence and bladder control. I also care for people with congenital and acquired urinary tract conditions, including urethral and ureteral strictures as well as severe prostate enlargement. I begin by conducting a thorough patient examination and assessment of the condition. Each person’s unique needs and preferences help to determine the best treatments. I offer a variety of options, including minimally invasive surgery with the da Vinci robotic system to repair the urinary tract and restore quality of life. I also offer no-scalpel vasectomy and surgical reconstruction for acquired and congenital conditions of the male genitals, such as hydroceles, lymphedema, and buried penis. I am a firm believer in multidisciplinary care and routinely collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including plastic surgeons, colorectal surgeons, physical therapists, and sex therapists, as well as other urologists, to ensure patients receive the best care possible. I am fortunate to be one of the few surgeons in the metropolitan area with extensive fellowship training in reconstructive genitourinary surgery and male sexual and reproductive health. I find my work especially fulfilling, as I can use my surgical expertise to provide compassionate care for people as they heal and recover.
